This IWD, Empowered By Vee wanted to shine a light on some amazing women who have and continue to inspire and ignite change from our volunteers to our mentors. This is not only a celebration of amazing women but an ode to inspire the future generations of girls and women!
Dr. Vee Kativhu

We know her, we love her! Only 26 years old, Kativhu is an education activist and the founder of our organization Empowered By Vee. She is a Young Leader for the Sustainable Development Goals for the U.N. Kativhu is also a Youtube Visionary and she uses her platform to share tips and advice to help underprivileged and underrepresented people from across the world recognize their own talent and potential.
If you didn’t already know, Vee Kativhu has received degrees from Oxford University, Harvard University, and most recently an Honorary Doctorate at the University of Bradford. She is currently completing her Phd at Claremont University in Educational leadership. While somehow balancing her advocacy and programming work at the same time. Vee never surprises. We can't wait to see what she does next!
Malala Yousafzai

She is one of the biggest voices in the fight for Girls rights and access to education. Malala Yousfzai’s work in advocacy started at the age many of us were learning to read, making her first speech about girls' education rights when she was just 11 years old and she has not stopped since. The youngest person to receive a Nobel Peace Prize, Yousafzai has been a loud campaigner against the injustice and discrimination against girls and women. From starting the Malala Fund, founded to keep girls in school, to collaborating with Empowered By Vee, she has been a relentless champion of gender equity.
Jade Bowler

If you love watching videos about University life, from academics to career tips, Unjaded Jade is another corner of the internet for this! Jade Bowler is commonly known as one of the first influencers in the wave of StudyTube. Her channel Unjaded Jade discusses everything from mindfulness, to imposter syndrome and university life. She has been featured in nationwide UK publications such as The Sunday Times, BBC The One Show and Sky News. She has worked closely with EBV as a mentor and speaker and continues to make an impact with students across internationally.
Nayasha Mudzazi

Nyasha Muzadzi is an award winning gender champion by the Netherlands Embassy, the prestigious Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni. She is also the founding Director for a Zimbabwean local NGO -Grace Hope Foundation that advocates for the rights and empowerment of adolescent girls and young women. She is a legal expert on women and girls rights and a woman empowerment enthusiast. Whether volunteering for Girl Up and being a regional leader for Zimbabwe to creating a community for personal development coaching through her platform Conversations of an Empowered Woman.
Mofiyin Onanuga

Mofiyin Onanuga is a 20-year-old Founder and CEO of Ominira Learning, a company focused on educational programme delivery, supported by the Department of Education. While pursuing a degree in Computer Science, she has positively impacted the lives of over 3,000 young people and their families. With extensive experience in both corporate and charitable sectors, Mofiyin serves on the Women of the World Young Leaders Directory and is the youngest trustee on the board of Supreme Education Foundation. Her deep passions for storytelling, education, and gender equity are further reflected in her role as a Youth Advisor for Girl Up UK, following her tenure on the global TA advisory board at Girl Up, a United Nations Foundation initiative.
Kaelyn Grace Apple is a Ph.D. Candidate in History & African American Studies at Yale

University, the Head of Product Development for Ali Abdaal’s Productivity Lab, the Founder and Head of Product Development & Marketing for Accepted Society, a Content Creator, and lover of horses and books. Online she shares resources for ambitious entrepreneurs and non-traditional scholars to live full, intentional, and purpose driven lives while documenting her own journey along the way.
Jesimiel Akinsuyi

Jesimiel Akinsuyi recently graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Natural Sciences. With a deep curiosity for understanding the world through a scientific lens, Jesimiel is passionate about making scientific knowledge accessible to diverse communities. She is particularly interested in exploring how scientific innovation can drive meaningful change and impact the world. She is also the host of the Female Genius podcast, which aims to demystify scientific research by tackling the challenges young people face today. Through engaging and digestible conversations, she brings complex topics to life in an informative and fun way.
Dr. Jessica O’Logbon

Dr. Jessica O’Logbon is a medical doctor with a Master’s in Psychiatry from Cambridge University, which was fully funded by scholarships and bursaries. She has written 3 e-books, one of which focuses on how she achieved these scholarships.
Jessica’s life mission is to inspire and empower young people to reach their full potential. Alongside her work, she runs an online platform, Progress with Jess, through which she mentors prospective medical students and shares advice and opportunities for current students to close the attainment gap and help them develop personally and professionally beyond their medical careers.

Aleesha

Aleesha is a 2nd year University of Warwick studying History and Politics. She serves as the Charity Officer of the Black Women's Project, a student society committed to improving and supporting Black Womens welfare, Making education accessible for all globally.While she recently joined the EBV Social Media team, she has been a constant supporter through attending conferences and speaking as well!
Keela

Keela is a MA Student at the university of Manchester studying a MA Digital Technologies Communication and Education. Having already qualified as a Secondary School Teacher Keela is passionate about education and guiding young people to reach their full potential inside and outside of the classroom. Keela has recently joined the EBV team stepping into the role of Programme Coordinator.
Bryanna

Bryanna is a second-year International Development and Politics student at the University of Birmingham. As an Outreach Mentor for the university, she supports and guides students by providing advice on study skills, university life, and career pathways, reflecting her commitment to social mobility and accessible education. Although she recently joined the EBV Partnerships Team, she has been an active supporter, by attending events like the EBV x Motivez Study Skills session and staying engaged with their initiatives through social media.
